Principal of Carver-Edisto Middle School

SUMMARY:    Use leadership, supervisory and administrative skills to promote educational excellence for the staff and educational development for each student.  

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Adheres to South Carolina Code of Laws and Orangeburg Consolidated School District Four school board policies.
2. Exercises full responsibility for the organization and administration of all activities, personnel, physical facilities and supplementary services within the assigned building.
3. Serves as liaison between the school, staff and community.
4. Selects, orientates, assigns and schedules staff members.
5. Coordinates budget developing process within the building and makes recommendations for staff and building needs.
6. Prepares master schedule.

Instruction

1. Provides leadership in establishing and implementing educational goals and objectives for the school and in evaluating the accomplishment of these goals and objectives.
2. Supervises instruction and provides leadership for curriculum development and improvement.
3. Responsible for the evaluation of certified, classified, and administrative staff.
4. Designs and provides effective professional development.
5. Ensures the use of RTI within the school building.

Public Relations

1. Supports school/community organizations.
2. Encourages staff to maintain positive relationship with community.
3. Works with PTO/SIC to promote school/community relations.

Resource Management

1. Oversees and monitors the school budget. Oversees ordering and purchasing of materials, supplies, and equipment.
2. Assess the general conditions and needs of the building and grounds and reports to appropriate staff.
3. Supervises custodial staff to insure the proper cleanliness, repair, and safety of the building and grounds.
4. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of his/her designee.
