Principal of Rudolph G. Gordon School Reports to: Assistant Superintendent for School Leadership About the School: Rudolph G. Gordon School (RGS) is a k-8 school located in the Simpsonville community of Greenville County. Opened in 2008 as a k-5 campus, the school underwent a major expansion and in 2018 expanded to include grades 6-8. With more than 1600 students, it is a large campus with excellent technology, modern spaces, and a strong faculty/staff. RGS has a highly involved parent community and excellent business partners who are dedicated to helping the school achieve is mission of providing a high caliber education to all students. The school has a focus for on science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. Consistently, RGS performs in in the top of schools across the district in a variety of measures on state assessments. RGS has been recognized several times as a Palmetto Gold and Silver Award winning school. - Uses a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support approach to advance student achievement and meet the needs of all learners. (PS 2)
- Supports teachers and students to enhance teaching and learning in a personalized learning environment. (PS 2)
- Utilizes student achievement data and methods to increase student performance through collaboration with school, district, and community resources and supports. (PS 2)
- Serves as the administrative head of the school and maintains responsibility for coordination of the total resources of the school including personnel, financial, and facility. (PS 3)
- Provides supervision and oversight for the extracurricular and after school programs and activities. (PS 3)
- Recruits, monitors, supports, evaluates, retains, and ensures high quality performance of teachers and staff who implement the vision and mission of the school and district. (PS 3)
- Work cooperatively with district level staff to ensure the school functions at a high level of success. (PS 3)
- Serves as the administrative head of the school and, as such, has responsibility for coordination of the total resources of the school and the general supervision of all school activities, safety, and welfare. (PS 3)

- Has a thorough understanding and working knowledge of project based learning and how to utilize it to drive student achievement and growth in a middle school setting.
- Is active in the community working to secure partnerships with businesses and groups to enhance the experiences of the school.
- Selects technology that is consistent with latest trends and secures training for staff on integration of new resources.
