As a Network Administrator at District Five Schools of Spartanburg County, you will play a vital role in maintaining and optimizing our network infrastructure to support the educational needs of our students and staff. Your responsibilities will include setting up, configuring, and troubleshooting Cisco and ARUBA networks, managing, maintaining, and upgrading the Active Directory database, and implementing security measures.
Furthermore, you will be expected to lead a team of technicians and provide them with comprehensive support across all aspects of their jobs. This involves offering level 2 support to the tech team, automating solutions to streamline their tasks and improve efficiency, and addressing problems that they cannot resolve independently. Your expertise in troubleshooting will be crucial in resolving network issues promptly and efficiently, ensuring uninterrupted access to technology resources for our students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure, including but not limited to Cisco and ARUBA networks (switching and wireless).
Perform proactive monitoring to identify and address potential network issues.
Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and Active Directory components.
Manage Mitel/Vertical Wave phone systems.
Administer the Network Firewall.
Install, configure, and maintain security systems and hardware (Cameras and door access).
Troubleshoot network problems, diagnose root causes, and implement solutions.
Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure network security and compliance.
Provide technical support to end-users and assist with network-related inquiries.
Maintain and update network documentation, including diagrams and configurations.
Assist in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Oversee the management of the Staff and Student laptops.
Manage the 1-to-1 initiative, the devices, and the processes associated with maintaining the program.
Interview Process: Candidates who meet the qualifications outlined above will be invited to participate in an interview process that includes a hands-on portion. During this segment, you will be asked to demonstrate your network setup, troubleshooting, and Active Directory management skills. Be prepared to showcase your technical expertise and problem-solving abilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred certifications: Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) and ARUBA Certified Mobility Professional (ACMP).
Proven experience with Cisco and ARUBA networking equipment.
Strong troubleshooting skills with a keen attention to detail.
Proficiency in Active Directory in all its aspects.
Knowledge of network security best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
