Under general supervision, assumes responsibility for building facilities and maintenance, safety and emergency services, student administration, athletics, nursing and health services, transportation, and food services and nutrition in Lexington County School District One. Proactively leads and manages a team to provide ongoing planning and support in each of these areas. |

Building Facilities and Maintenance - Participates in the selection of professional services for completion of capital improvement projects; meets with contractual professional services and recommends professional services to the superintendent; ensures effective and compliant procedures related to the bid process.
- Coordinates site selection/purchase as well as disposition of designated surplus property.
- Coordinates with engineers and architects in capital improvement project design; defines building needs, space allocation and facility utilization.
- Oversees and monitors work conducted by construction crews to ensure quality of work and satisfaction of specifications, and notifies architects of any problems; monitors each project to completion; keeps the superintendent abreast of project status.
- Develops and monitors capital improvement budgets; maintains a cost analysis of each project with expenditure and completion rates of each project.
- Monitors and develops energy conservation measures within the district.
- Receives reviews and/or approves work orders, purchase requests, reports, specifications, drawings, etc.
- Conducts the attendance line adjustment
- process for new school attendance boundaries.
- Facilitates long-range facility planning and growth analysis.
Student Administration - Supervises and assists all schools in programs and policies regarding student discipline and welfare including all student discipline hearings in accordance with applicable board policies.
- Supervises and assists in attendance and truancy matters.
- Oversees district athletic programs and requirements.
- Manages district emergency response in crisis situations.
- Serves as the district administrator responsible for the general supervision of the district food service program.
- Facilitates nursing & health services programs for the district.
Transportation - Supervises the director of transportation, administrative assistant for student services, hearing officers, and lead nurse, as assigned.
- Oversees the district-wide transportation system, to include planned bus routes, maintenance and discipline.
Operations Division - Interacts with a wide variety of individuals and groups such as vendors, architects, engineers, contractors, attorneys, regulatory agencies, local and state government agencies, educational organizations, etc.
- Develops and monitors the operating budgets for operations.
- Supervises, coordinates, and leads employees on the team to achieve maximum effectiveness.
- Assumes responsibility for professional growth activities related to the requirements of the position.
- Maintains awareness of and compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Selects, requests, and maintains an inventory of instructional aides, technology tools, equipment, and supplies needed for daily activities; provides for safe storage and proper use of all materials, tools, and equipment.
- Effectively uses personal technology devices and software applications for the management of pertinent information and communication.
- Performs other related duties as required.
