To serve as Executive Director for Nutrition Services, successfully ensuring that all students receive well-balanced meals including after-school and out-of-school meal programs while ensuring compliance with all state and federal laws. Analyze, monitor and prepare budget; control expenditures; and oversee hiring, training, and supervision of more than 400 employees.
PRIMARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Complex analysis and frequent multi-disciplined discussions to meet current daily challenges, as well as major District initiatives that either relate to the on-going implementation of long-term business projects or impact to all District employees.
2. Continuous decision-making such as responsibility for monitoring costs and administering guidelines/procedures regarding important issues which have significant impact internally or externally to the community.
3. Regular contact with management employees inside and outside of the department and with the District’s customers, contractors, or other external parties. Discussions are meaningful and decisions would affect the success of the District. Interaction requires persuasiveness and leadership skills and a thorough knowledge of organizational initiatives and relationships.
4. Supervision applies to a function with full responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods, key performance indicators (to include Meals per Labor hour), and personnel administration.
5. Supervise over 400 Nutritional Service employees. Recruit, recommend for hire, train, track and improve retention and employee turnover.
6. Oversee preparation and delivery of staff development and training for more than 400 employees.
7. Analyze, monitor, and control expenditures and revenues (over $30 million annually).
8. Ensure compliance with state laws and federal laws, Free and reduced guidelines, Child and Adult Care Food Programs, Head Start and Early Head Start Meal programs, School Breakfast and Lunch Programs, After-school and Out-of-School Meal Programs, etc.
9. Prepare contracts and bids for equipment, supplies, and food for District. Prepare and execute the Palmetto Group food and supply bid (Palmetto Group consists of 24 Districts representing over 25% of the students of South Carolina).
10. Collect data and analyze for report generation.
11. Planning, development, coordination, and implementation of Nutrition Education for District.
12. Supervise the acquisition, allocation, and use of all federal commodities; calculate and determine staff allocations for each facility.
13. Prepare and deliver program presentations and recommendations to the Superintendent and Board of Trustees.

Bachelor’s Degree
At least 4 years of related experience
Strong management and administrative skills; experience working with multiple organizational units
