Organization Background: Liberty STEAM Charter School will operate three campuses in the 2025-26 school year and serve 900 scholars in grades K-5 with an aggressive growth plan to serve 2,061 scholars across four campuses by July 2029. Reporting directly to the Executive Director (ED), the Director of Human Resources is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and leadership across all departments/teams. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added services to the business. The role maintains an effective level of business literacy about the school’s mission, vision, and organizational goals.
Role Mission: The Director of Human Resources is a senior level network team role designed for transformational leaders who desire to change the educational landscape for thousands of children by harnessing their leadership efforts in performance management (PM) and quality improvement programs using a data-driven focus that sets priorities for improvements aligned to ongoing strategic imperatives. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position will supervise a Coordinator of Talent Development.

Responsibilities
Serves as a trusted advisor and strategic partner. Consults with senior leaders to develop HR strategies and implement initiatives that align with organizational objectives.
Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation. Maintains in-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal legal requirements, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Engages legal counsel when necessary.
Addresses employee concerns, investigates issues, and advises conflict resolution.
Works closely with leaders and team members to support healthy work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Oversees periodical compensation analysis. Partners with senior leaders to create salary structures and administer employee benefits.
Leads recruitment, development and succession planning. Ensures staffing for critical current and future roles within the organization.
Optimizes onboarding, promotions, transfers and separations.
Ensures EEO compliance and works with third-party agencies for EEO-1, Veterans, and Affirmative Action reporting.
May be required to represent the company during hearings, appeals or arbitrations.
Minimum weekly time commitment of 50 hours.

Minimum Qualifications and Experiences:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or Related Field
Professional HR Certification and or master’s degree preferred (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP).
Experience:
Minimum 5+ years of successful full-time HR business manager experience
K-12 SCDE Educator/Principal/Superintendent Licensure with 5 Years Principal Experience is also Desired
Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable local, state, and federal laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
Ability to work some evenings.
Ability to work in a fast pace, diverse work environment and collaborate with a high-performing team.
Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate in front of groups.
Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to influence.
Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including PowerPoint; experience with HRIS and benefits databases.
Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
Must pass a drug screen and background check.
Must be able to work at a desk and on a computer for prolonged periods.
Compensation
The salary for this position is very competitive and commensurate with experience. The salary range is $100,000-$120,000 based upon experience relevant to the position.
