As a magnet school with a focus on Communication Arts, League Academy integrates arts, technology, and leadership development into all areas of instruction. Recognized as a Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase School from 2018 to 2022, the school prioritizes student leadership through programs like CKH Process Champions, a teen leadership course, and a CKH Leadership Team. Professional Learning Communities and curriculum development drive instructional practices, ensuring high academic achievement, as evidenced by multiple designations as a National Jr. Beta Club School of Distinction and an Arts in the Basic Curriculum (ABC) Grant recipient since 2016. A Successful League Academy Principal:
Understands magnet program enrollment practices and provides strong guidance, development and implementation of robust integration of the arts across academic disciplines.
Is familiar and experienced with middle school methodology and practices that improve achievement.
Possesses a strong passion for arts-based education and has experience implementing a strong arts focused curriculum and program.
Is active in the community working to secure partnerships with businesses and groups to enhance the experiences of the school.
Selects technology that is consistent with latest trends and secures training for staff on integration of new resources.
Is experienced with diverse student learner populations and skilled in increasing student achievement with diverse student learner groups.
Education and Experience Required:
A minimum earned Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field.
Valid South Carolina elementary or secondary principal's certificate
Three to five years of teaching and administrative/supervisory experience.
Building Level Administrative/Supervisory Salary Schedule (BUILDG) – 245 Days Grade A5 Range ($93,216- $140,440) Placement on salary schedule includes several factors to include experience
