About the School:Greenville High School, a Magnet Focus School of Law, Finance and Business, is one of the highest performing academic and extracurricular schools in the state of South Carolina. Greenville High School is consistently named to the US News List of America’s Best High Schools, Niche Report’s List of Best High Schools & America’s Most Challenging High Schools Index by the Washington Post/Jay Matthews.
Greenville High School has a robust AP program and is part of the 1st group of schools in the country to be named to the College Board AP School Honor Roll. They also provide Dual Credit opportunities with the University of South Carolina. Greenville High School also has a Credit Union Branch that is led by students on campus, the first of such partnerships inside of a high school in our state.
Greenville’s Speech & Debate team consistently places 1st or 2nd in the state and their Academic Team consistently qualifies for Nationals. Their Band & Orchestra both received the state’s Outstanding Performance Award in 2023 and their Athletic Department was the top performer as a whole in Class 4A for 2023, and their student body has raised almost 1 million dollars over the last 4 years for local non-profits through their annual Spirit Week sponsored by their Student Council.
Parents and community are also a large part of Greenville High School with a School Improvement Council (SIC), active PTSA, and an All-Sports Booster Club.

Work cooperatively with district level staff to ensure the school functions at a high level of success. (PS 3)
Serves as the administrative head of the school and, as such, has responsibility for coordination of the total resources of the school and the general supervision of all school activities, safety, and welfare. (PS 3)
Assigns all professional staff within the building in accordance with their certification and competency. (PS 3)
Supports a strong, positive school culture and climate focused on student social/emotional growth and development matched with high expectations. (PS 4)
Creates, develops, and sustains relationships that result in active student engagement in the learning process. (PS 4)

A Successful Greenville High School Principal:
Is familiar and experienced with high school methodology and practices that improve achievement.
Develops and successfully implements a comprehensive special education plan that provides a continuum of services.
Is active in the community working to secure partnerships with businesses and groups to enhance the experiences of the school.
Selects technology that is consistent with latest trends and secures training for staff on integration of new resources.
Education and Experience Required:
A minimum earned Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field.
Valid South Carolina secondary principal's certificate
Three to five years of teaching and administrative/supervisory experience.
