Richland School District Two is seeking to hire a dynamic, experienced Executive Director of Human Resources. Under limited supervision, the Executive Director of Human Resources assists the Senior Chief Human Resources Officer in planning, implementing, and directing District personnel activities, policies and procedures related to employee services, benefits and compensation, teacher quality, employee relations, and human resources information systems for certified and classified staff.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Supervises duties of assigned directors, managers and support staff. Supervisory duties include instructing, assigning, reviewing, and planning work of others; selecting new employees; maintaining standards; coordinating activities; and allocating personnel. Reviews the work of subordinates for completeness and accuracy; evaluates and makes recommendations as appropriate; offers training, advice, and assistance as needed.
Supervises the hiring process for all certified and classified district employees in cooperation with the Director of Employee Services, administrators, and supervisors, to ensure consistency in the district and compliance with state and federal law and contractual provisions.
Provides advice and guidance to principals and other administrators on employee matters, not limited to disciplinary actions and concerns. Assists principals and other administrators in employee disciplinary investigations and resolutions. Conducts investigations related to employee misconduct, with a special emphasis on complex cases – collects information, interviews individuals, analyzes evidence and facts, and recommends corrective/disciplinary action that adheres to district policies and associated employment laws.
Collaborates with the Senior Chief Human Resources Officer to ensure best practices in Human Resources operations and management for compliance and effectiveness. Directs professional development for principals and other administrators regarding documentation and dismissal recommendations.
Reports to the Senior Chief Human Resources Officer.
Master's degree in Human Resources, Education Administration, or a related discipline, supplemented by five to seven years of experience in Human Resources or School Administration or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, pHCLE, or equivalent certification preferred.
